The mechanism of action involves inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes critical for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death. Lquin 500 should be administered as prescribed, typically once daily, with or without food, ensuring adequate hydration to prevent crystalluria. Caution is advised in patients with a history of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use, renal impairment, or QT interval prolongation.
