About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Loparin 60 Injection contains Enoxaparin sodium 60 mg, a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) used as an anticoagulant for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disorders. Enoxaparin exerts its anticoagulant effect by potentiating the inhibition of activated Factor Xa and to a lesser extent Factor IIa (thrombin), thereby reducing the formation of fibrin clots. Loparin 60 Injection is indicated for the prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing surgery, including orthopedic and abdominal procedures, as well as in medically ill patients at risk of venous thromboembolism. It is also utilized in the treatment of acute coronary syndromes such as unstable angina and non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, often in combination with aspirin. The injection is administered subcutaneously, with dosage and duration tailored according to the clinical indication and patient-specific factors such as renal function and body weight. Monitoring of anticoagulant activity is generally not required but may be necessary in special populations. Loparin 60 Injection should be used with caution in patients with bleeding disorders, severe renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to enoxaparin or heparin. Adverse effects may include bleeding, thrombocytopenia, and injection site reactions. Proper administration and adherence to prescribed dosing are essential to maximize therapeutic benefit and minimize risks.
