About This Medicine

Product description & overview

Indocap Gel contains Indomethacin 1%, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used topically to alleviate pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, and sprains. Indomethacin acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain. The gel formulation allows localized delivery of the active ingredient, minimizing systemic absorption and reducing the risk of systemic side effects commonly associated with oral NSAIDs. Indocap Gel is indicated for symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain and inflammation in superficial soft tissue injuries and inflammatory conditions. It should be applied to the affected area two to three times daily, with a thin layer gently massaged into the skin until fully absorbed. Patients should avoid applying the gel to broken or irritated skin, mucous membranes, or near the eyes. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be avoided unless clearly necessary. Common adverse reactions may include local skin irritation, redness, or itching. Patients with known hypersensitivity to indomethacin or other NSAIDs should not use this product. Consult a healthcare professional before use if you have underlying medical conditions or are using other medications.
