About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Inbec Tablet is a fixed-dose combination antiretroviral medication containing Abacavir 600 mg, Dolutegravir 50 mg, and Lamivudine 300 mg, indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection in adults and adolescents weighing at least 40 kg. Abacavir, a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI), inhibits HIV replication by incorporating into viral DNA and causing chain termination. Dolutegravir, an integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI), prevents the integration of viral DNA into the host genome, thereby blocking viral replication. Lamivudine, also an NRTI, acts synergistically by inhibiting reverse transcriptase, further suppressing viral replication. The combination of these agents provides a potent antiretroviral effect with a high barrier to resistance. Inbec Tablet is administered orally once daily with or without food, facilitating adherence to therapy. It is essential to perform HLA-B*5701 screening prior to initiation to reduce the risk of hypersensitivity reactions associated with Abacavir. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment and those with a history of hypersensitivity to any component. Regular monitoring of viral load, CD4 count, and liver function tests is recommended during therapy. Inbec Tablet should be used as part of a comprehensive antiretroviral regimen under medical supervision.

About Dolutegravir
Dolutegravir is an antiretroviral medication used to treat HIV infection. It works by inhibiting integrase, an enzyme necessary for viral replication. Dolutegravir is clinically significant for managing HIV and improving immune function. In summary, dolutegravir is essential for treating HIV infection.
How It Works
Dolutegravir inhibits the integrase enzyme, preventing the integration of viral DNA into the host genome, thereby blocking HIV replication.
All Active Ingredients
Abacavir
Abacavir inhibits reverse transcriptase, preventing viral replication and reducing HIV levels.
Lamivudine
Lamivudine inhibits reverse transcriptase, preventing the conversion of viral RNA into DNA, thereby inhibiting viral replication.
