Gudcef-CV Dry Syrup is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil (50mg/5ml) and Clavulanic Acid (31.25mg/5ml), indicated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. Cefpodoxime Proxetil, a third-generation cephalosporin, exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Cefpodoxime by preventing enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity. Gudcef-CV Dry Syrup is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media caused by susceptible pathogens. The dry syrup formulation allows for convenient reconstitution and accurate dosing in pediatric and adult patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets.
