About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Genxmox-CV Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, designed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing enzymatic degradation of Amoxycillin by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity. Genxmox-CV is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing strains. The combination enhances efficacy in resistant infections and reduces the risk of treatment failure. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity and type of infection, patient age, and renal function. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Hypersensitivity reactions, including rash and anaphylaxis, may occur in penicillin-sensitive individuals. Genxmox-CV should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergy to beta-lactam antibiotics. Proper medical supervision is advised to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and minimize resistance development.
