About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Zyrorab L 75mg/20mg Capsule SR is a combination medication containing Levosulpiride 75mg and Rabeprazole 20mg, formulated for sustained release to provide prolonged therapeutic effects. Levosulpiride is a selective dopamine D2 receptor antagonist with prokinetic and antiemetic properties, commonly used to treat gastrointestinal motility disorders such as functional dyspepsia, gastroparesis, and irritable bowel syndrome. It enhances gastric emptying and improves esophageal motility, thereby alleviating symptoms like nausea, vomiting, bloating, and abdominal discomfort. Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, making it effective in managing acid-related disorders including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The combination of Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole in Zyrorab L provides a dual mechanism targeting both motility and acid secretion abnormalities, offering symptomatic relief and promoting mucosal healing. This formulation is indicated for patients with concomitant acid peptic disease and motility disturbances. Zyrorab L should be used under medical supervision, with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, and is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to its components. Common adverse effects may include headache, dizziness, and mild gastrointestinal disturbances.
