Zoxan 500 is indicated for the treatment of various infections including urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, gastrointestinal infections, and certain types of infectious diarrhea. It is also used in the management of anthrax exposure and prophylaxis. The tablet should be administered as prescribed by a healthcare professional, typically twice daily, with dosage adjustments based on the severity of infection, renal function, and patient age. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort, as well as headache and dizziness. Serious adverse effects are rare but may include tendonitis, tendon rupture, central nervous system effects, and hypersensitivity reactions.
