Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exhibits bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, essential enzymes for DNA replication and transcription. Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, exerts its antimicrobial effect primarily against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by disrupting DNA synthesis and causing cell death. This synergistic combination is effective in managing mixed infections involving both aerobic and anaerobic pathogens, commonly seen in gastrointestinal, genitourinary, respiratory tract infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections. Zorno Tablet is indicated for conditions such as bacterial dysentery, amoebiasis, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, and complicated urinary tract infections.
