Zelacid-D Capsule SR is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30 mg and Rabeprazole 20 mg, designed for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and related upper gastrointestinal disorders. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective acid control and promoting mucosal healing. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, enhancing patient compliance and symptom control. Zelacid-D Capsule SR is indicated for patients experiencing acid reflux, erosive esophagitis, and dyspepsia associated with delayed gastric emptying.
