Zanvia 100 Tablet contains Sitagliptin 100 mg, a potent dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Sitagliptin acts by enhancing the levels of incretin hormones, which increase insulin synthesis and release from pancreatic beta cells in a glucose-dependent manner, while simultaneously decreasing glucagon secretion from alpha cells. This dual action helps to improve glycemic control without causing significant hypoglycemia. Zanvia 100 is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic parameters in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin. The tablet is administered orally, typically once daily, with or without food. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Sitagliptin effectively reduces HbA1c levels and fasting plasma glucose, contributing to long-term diabetes management.
