Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, protects Amoxycillin from enzymatic degradation by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity against resistant strains. Yuviclav 375 is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, sinusitis, and dental infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including strains producing beta-lactamase enzymes. The tablet should be administered as prescribed by a healthcare professional, typically every 8 to 12 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection. It is important to complete the full course of therapy to prevent the development of resistance.
