Xcudcef-CV Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefuroxime 500mg and Clavulanic Acid 125mg, designed for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin, exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively targeting both gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Cefuroxime by preventing the enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity. Xcudcef-CV is indicated for the management of respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, sinusitis, and pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media. The combination is particularly useful in infections caused by resistant strains producing beta-lactamase enzymes. The recommended dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity of infection, patient age, renal function, and clinical response.
