Wellapod-CV 325 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, designed for the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections. Cefpodoxime Proxetil, a third-generation cephalosporin, exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby effectively targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Cefpodoxime by preventing the degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. This synergistic combination is indicated for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and other susceptible bacterial infections. Wellapod-CV 325 is particularly useful in cases where beta-lactamase producing organisms are suspected or confirmed.
