Oxidoben Gel is a topical dermatological formulation containing Adapalene 0.1% w/w and Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% w/w, indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris. Adapalene, a third-generation synthetic retinoid, exerts comedolytic and anti-inflammatory effects by modulating cellular differentiation and keratinization within the follicular epithelium, thereby preventing the formation of microcomedones. Benzoyl Peroxide, a potent antimicrobial agent, reduces Propionibacterium acnes colonization through the release of free radicals, while also exhibiting mild keratolytic properties. The combination of these active ingredients offers a dual mechanism of action targeting multiple pathogenic factors of acne, including follicular hyperkeratinization, bacterial proliferation, and inflammation. Oxidoben Gel is applied once daily to affected areas, preferably in the evening, after cleansing the skin. Patients should be advised to avoid excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen during treatment due to potential photosensitivity. Common adverse effects may include localized erythema, dryness, peeling, and irritation, which typically diminish with continued use. Oxidoben Gel should be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with sensitive skin or those using concomitant topical therapies. It is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.
