Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating associated with delayed gastric emptying and gastroparesis. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the gastric parietal cells, effectively reducing gastric acidity and promoting mucosal healing in acid-related conditions. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, enhancing efficacy and patient compliance by reducing dosing frequency. Omebac D Capsule SR is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcer disease, and functional dyspepsia where symptoms of acid reflux and delayed gastric emptying coexist. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, significant hepatic impairment, or prolactin-releasing pituitary tumors.
