Ofoxx-D Eye/Ear Drops contain Ofloxacin 0.3% w/v, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and Dexamethasone 0.01% w/v, a corticosteroid, formulated for the treatment of bacterial infections accompanied by inflammation in the eye and ear. Ofloxacin exerts a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, thereby preventing bacterial replication and promoting eradication of susceptible pathogens. Dexamethasone provides potent anti-inflammatory action by suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators, reducing edema, redness, and discomfort associated with infection. Ofoxx-D is indicated for the management of bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, otitis externa, and other superficial ocular and auricular infections where inflammation is present. The combination therapy addresses both microbial eradication and symptomatic relief, enhancing patient outcomes. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ofloxacin, dexamethasone, or any formulation components. Caution is advised in cases of viral, fungal, or mycobacterial infections, as corticosteroids may exacerbate these conditions. The drops should be administered as directed, typically 1-2 drops instilled into the affected eye or ear every 4-6 hours. Patients should complete the full course to prevent resistance development.
