Ofloxarit Infusion contains Ofloxacin 200 mg, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial infections. It functions by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby exerting bactericidal activity. Ofloxarit Infusion is indicated for the treatment of severe infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, and septicemia caused by susceptible organisms. It is administered intravenously, allowing for rapid systemic absorption and achieving therapeutic plasma concentrations in critically ill patients or those unable to take oral medication. Dosage and duration of therapy should be guided by the severity of infection, renal function, and clinical response. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones, and it should be used with care in individuals with known QT prolongation or concurrent use of other QT-prolonging drugs. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and rarely tendonitis or tendon rupture.
