Ofgril TZ Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Ofloxacin 200 mg and Tinidazole 600 mg, indicated for the treatment of mixed bacterial and protozoal infections. Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing DNA replication and transcription in susceptible organisms. Tinidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, is effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by disrupting DNA synthesis and causing cell death. This synergistic combination is particularly useful in managing infections such as gastrointestinal infections, genitourinary tract infections, amoebiasis, and certain sexually transmitted infections where both aerobic and anaerobic pathogens may be involved. Ofgril TZ Tablet should be administered as prescribed by a healthcare professional, considering the patient’s clinical condition and microbial sensitivity. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones or nitroimidazoles, as well as those with hepatic or renal impairment.
