Nuptam-DSR Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30mg and Rabeprazole 20mg, designed to manage gastrointestinal disorders characterized by acid-related symptoms and delayed gastric emptying. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility by increasing the movement of the stomach and intestines, thereby facilitating gastric emptying and alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, effectively reducing gastric acidity and promoting mucosal healing in acid-related conditions. The combined action of these agents makes Nuptam-DSR effective in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, and peptic ulcer disease, providing symptomatic relief and enhancing mucosal recovery. It is particularly beneficial in patients with concomitant delayed gastric emptying and acid hypersecretion. Nuptam-DSR should be administered under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability. Caution is advised in patients with cardiac arrhythmias, liver impairment, or concomitant use of QT-prolonging drugs.
