Novaprazole Tablet, containing 40mg of Pantoprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) indicated for the treatment of various gastric and duodenal ulcers, erosive esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Pantoprazole reduces gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the hydrogen-potassium-ATPase enzyme system (proton pumps) in the stomach parietal cells. The tablet is available in an enteric-coated form to minimize gastric irritation and ensure optimal absorption. Novaprazole is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to Pantoprazole or similar drugs, and caution should be exercised in patients with liver dysfunction. Proton pump inhibitors like Novaprazole may increase the risk of bone fractures of the hip, wrist, and spine with long-term use, especially in the elderly.
