Nkacin 250mg Injection, containing Amikacin sulfate (250mg), is an antibiotic used for the treatment of severe infections caused by susceptible strains of gram-negative bacteria. It is particularly effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter species, and certain Enterobacteriaceae. Nkacin is administered intramuscularly or intravenously, and dosage regimens should be individualized based on patient's renal function and infection severity. Monitoring of serum amikacin levels and renal function is recommended due to its nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity potential.
