About This Medicine

Product description & overview

Moxclav 375 Tablet is a combination antibiotic preparation containing amoxycillin (250mg) and clavulanic acid (125mg) as its active pharmaceutical ingredients. This fixed-dose combination product is indicated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and upper and lower respiratory tract infections. The antibiotic moiety, amoxycillin, is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, thereby preventing peptidoglycan formation. Clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, prevents the action of beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by certain bacteria to inactivate beta-lactam antibiotics. The synergistic action of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid enables effective treatment of infections caused by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. Moxclav 375 Tablet is available in tablet form and should be taken with or without food as directed by the physician. It is essential to complete the full course of treatment to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
