About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Mox CV 625 Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination product containing Amoxycillin (500mg) and Clavulanic Acid (125mg). This medication is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by beta-lactamase producing bacteria, such as pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, and urinary tract infections. The Amoxycillin component exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while the Clavulanic Acid component inhibits the action of beta-lactamase enzymes, thereby enhancing the efficacy of Amoxycillin. Mox CV 625 Tablet is also effective against susceptible strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. This product is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, and in patients with kidney or liver dysfunction. The most common adverse effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. The recommended adult dosage is 625mg (1 tablet) every 8 hours for a minimum of 7-14 days. Mox CV 625 Tablet is available in a film-coated tablet form and should be taken with a full glass of water.
