About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Motocef CV 625 Tablet is a fixed-dose combination product containing cefuroxime 500mg and clavulanic acid 125mg. This antibiotic medication is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections, including pneumonia, bronchitis, tonsillitis, and sinusitis, as well as urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections. Cefuroxime, a broad-spectrum cephalosporin, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby preventing bacterial growth and multiplication. Clavulanic acid, a β-lactamase inhibitor, irreversibly inactivates β-lactamases produced by certain bacteria, thereby restoring the antibiotic activity of cefuroxime against resistant bacteria. The combination of cefuroxime and clavulanic acid broadens the antimicrobial spectrum of cefuroxime, making Motocef CV 625 Tablet effective against a wide range of bacterial pathogens, including penicillinase-producing strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Haemophilus influenzae. Motocef CV 625 Tablet is available for oral administration and is suitable for patients with mild to moderate bacterial infections.
