About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Montoliv Tablet is a combination product containing Levocetirizine 5mg and Montelukast 10mg. It is indicated for the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis and for the prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm. Levocetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine, exhibits potent H1-receptor antagonist activity, providing relief from symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, and nasal congestion. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the actions of cysteinyl leukotrienes, which are potent bronchoconstrictors, thereby preventing bronchospasm. The combination of these two agents provides a comprehensive approach to managing allergic rhinitis and asthma. Montoliv Tablet is taken orally once daily, preferably in the morning. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the product. As with all medications, patients should be monitored for potential adverse reactions, which may include headache, nausea, and insomnia.
