Montina-L Syrup is a combination of levocetirizine and montelukast in a single oral liquid formulation, designed to provide effective relief from allergic rhinitis symptoms. This syrup contains 2.5mg of levocetirizine and 4mg of montelukast per 5ml dose. Levocetirizine, a histamine H1-receptor antagonist, helps to alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, and nasal congestion. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, works by blocking the action of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory mediators released during allergic reactions. The combination of these two agents provides a comprehensive approach to managing allergic rhinitis symptoms, including nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, and cough. Montina-L Syrup is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate allergic rhinitis, and is suitable for patients 6 years and older.
