About This Medicine

Product description & overview

Montelo LC Tablet is a combination product containing Levocetirizine (5mg) and Montelukast (10mg), designed to provide effective management of allergic rhinitis and mild to moderate asthma. Levocetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine, exhibits potent anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties, while Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT1) receptor, thereby reducing bronchoconstriction and inflammation. The combination of these two agents in Montelo LC Tablet offers a comprehensive approach to alleviating symptoms of allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, sneezing, and itchy eyes, as well as bronchial constriction, cough, and wheezing associated with mild to moderate asthma. The medication is indicated for patients aged 12 years and above, and is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either levocetirizine or montelukast. As with any medication, Montelo LC Tablet should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment, and its use should be avoided in patients with a history of cardiac disease, including hypertension.
