Montair-LC Tablet is a combination of levocetirizine (5mg) and montelukast (10mg), indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Levocetirizine, an antihistamine, relieves symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and congestion. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, helps to reduce inflammation and bronchoconstriction, thereby alleviating symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The combination of these two medications provides a comprehensive approach to managing allergic conditions, offering 24-hour relief from symptoms. Montair-LC Tablet is suitable for adult and pediatric patients aged 6 years and above, and can be administered once daily. The recommended dose is one tablet, which should be taken in the evening. Patients with hepatic impairment or a history of depression, anxiety, or psychiatric disorders should be closely monitored. Common side effects include headache, nasopharyngitis, and fatigue. Rare but serious side effects include angioedema, anaphylaxis, and agranulocytosis.
