About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Monozen 200mg Tablet is a cephalosporin antibiotic containing Cefixime as the active pharmaceutical ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including upper respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. Monozen is administered orally and is available in a tablet form. The recommended dosage is one tablet every 8-12 hours for 7-14 days, depending on the type and severity of the infection. Monozen is not suitable for patients with a known allergy to cephalosporins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. It is also contraindicated in patients with renal impairment, as its elimination is reduced in these individuals. Monozen may cause gastrointestinal disturbances, such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, as well as allergic reactions, including rash and urticaria. Patients with a history of kidney stones or colitis should use Monozen with caution. Monozen is not recommended for use in patients under the age of 6 months due to the risk of serious bacterial infections.
