About This Medicine

Product description & overview

Mocast L 5mg/10mg Tablet is a fixed-dose combination product containing levocetirizine dihydrochloride and montelukast sodium. Levocetirizine is a histamine-1 receptor antagonist used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria, while montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist used to treat asthma and perennial allergic rhinitis. The combination of these two agents provides a broader range of therapeutic benefits, effectively managing both respiratory and skin symptoms associated with allergic reactions. The tablet is designed for oral administration and should be taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day. Mocast L is indicated for the treatment of patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria. It is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm in patients with asthma. The most common adverse reactions reported include headache, dizziness, and stomach pain. Mocast L is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components or with active tuberculosis. As with any medication, Mocast L should be used with caution in patients with pre-existing medical conditions, such as liver or kidney disease, and in patients taking other medications.
