Misnol 200mcg Tablet is a prescription medication containing Misoprostol, a synthetic prostaglandin E1 analogue, indicated for the prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers in patients at risk. It is also used to induce cervical ripening and labor in pregnant women, and to treat postpartum hemorrhage. The tablet is administered orally, with the usual dose being 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed, not to exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours. In patients with NSAID-induced gastric ulcers, Misnol 200mcg Tablet is administered concomitantly with the NSAID. The recommended duration of treatment is up to 8 days for cervical ripening and labor induction, and up to 24 hours for postpartum hemorrhage treatment. The most common side effects include diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache. Patients with a history of ectopic pregnancy or porphyria, and those taking anticoagulant therapy, should use Misnol 200mcg Tablet with caution. As with any medication, patients should be closely monitored for signs of gastrointestinal bleeding, and the medication should be discontinued if such symptoms occur.
