Mifiact 10mg Tablet is a prescription-only medication containing mifepristone, a synthetic steroid with a potent antiglucocorticoid effect. It is indicated for the termination of intrauterine pregnancy up to 49 days of gestation in combination with a prostaglandin analog. Mifiact works by antagonizing the action of progesterone on the uterus, thereby inducing uterine contractions and facilitating the passage of the products of conception. The tablet should be taken as a single dose, preferably within 72 hours of taking the prostaglandin analog. The medication is contraindicated in patients with a known or suspected ectopic pregnancy, as well as those with a history of hypersensitivity to mifepristone or any of its excipients. Common side effects include heavy bleeding, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Serious complications, such as hemorrhage and infection, may occur in rare instances.
