About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Miliom D 10mg/20mg Capsule is a gastroprotective and prokinetic agent, containing a combination of Domperidone 10mg and Omeprazole 20mg. Domperidone, a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, acts as a prokinetic agent, promoting gastric motility and reducing symptoms of delayed gastric emptying, nausea, and vomiting. Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, inhibits the final common pathway of gastric acid secretion, thereby reducing the production of gastric acid and providing gastroprotective effects. This combination therapy is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, and functional dyspepsia, as well as for the prevention of recurrence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) following anti-retroviral therapy in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. The capsule is designed to release Domperidone and Omeprazole simultaneously, providing a rapid onset of therapeutic action and a sustained duration of effect.

About Omeprazole
Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It works by reducing stomach acid production, alleviating symptoms associated with excess acid. Omeprazole is clinically significant for managing acid-related disorders and promoting healing of the gastrointestinal tract. In summary, omeprazole is essential for controlling gastric acidity and preventing complications.
How It Works
Omeprazole irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells, leading to decreased gastric acid secretion.
