Migrest Solo Tablet is a prescription-only medication containing 10mg of flunarizine, a selective calcium channel blocker. It is indicated for the treatment of migraines, including prophylactic treatment to reduce the frequency and severity of migraine attacks. Flunarizine acts by inhibiting the entry of calcium ions into the pain transmitting neurons, thereby reducing the release of pain mediators. The medication is absorbed rapidly and reaches its peak concentration within 2-3 hours. It is eliminated primarily through renal excretion, with a half-life of approximately 12 hours. Migrest Solo Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease, porphyria, and hypersensitivity to the active substance. Common side effects include dizziness, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or renal impairment should be closely monitored during treatment. Migrest Solo Tablet is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. The recommended dose is one tablet daily, taken in the morning. Dose adjustment may be necessary in patients with renal impairment.
