Lorfast-AM Syrup is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Loratadine (5mg/5ml), Guaifenesin (50mg/5ml), and Ambroxol (30mg/5ml), designed to provide comprehensive relief from symptoms associated with allergic respiratory conditions and productive cough. Loratadine, a non-sedating antihistamine, effectively alleviates allergic manifestations such as rhinorrhea, sneezing, and nasal congestion by selectively antagonizing peripheral H1 histamine receptors. Guaifenesin acts as an expectorant, facilitating the loosening and thinning of mucus in the airways, thereby promoting productive cough and easing expectoration. Ambroxol, a mucolytic agent, enhances mucociliary clearance by breaking down mucus viscosity, further aiding in the removal of secretions from the respiratory tract. This synergistic combination is particularly beneficial in managing upper respiratory tract infections, allergic rhinitis with associated cough, and bronchitis with mucus hypersecretion. Lorfast-AM Syrup is indicated for use in both adults and children above the age of two years, under medical supervision.
