Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine that effectively antagonizes H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing allergic symptoms such as rhinorrhea, sneezing, and itching. Phenylephrine acts as a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist, providing vasoconstriction of nasal mucosal blood vessels, which results in decreased swelling and congestion.
