Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, as metabolism of Loperamide may be affected. Lopide is contraindicated in cases of bacterial enterocolitis caused by invasive organisms, pseudomembranous colitis associated with antibiotic use, and in patients with known hypersensitivity to Loperamide. Adverse effects are generally mild and may include dizziness, constipation, and abdominal discomfort. It is important to maintain adequate hydration during treatment. Lopide should be used under medical guidance, especially in pediatric, elderly, or immunocompromised patients.
