LNZ 600 Tablet contains Linezolid 600 mg, an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. It is primarily used in the management of complicated skin and soft tissue infections, nosocomial and community-acquired pneumonia, and infections caused by multi-drug resistant organisms including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE). Linezolid exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit, thereby preventing the formation of the initiation complex essential for bacterial translation. LNZ 600 Tablet is administered orally, with a recommended dosage of 600 mg every 12 hours, typically for a duration of 10 to 14 days depending on the severity and type of infection. Caution is advised in patients with a history of myelosuppression, as Linezolid may cause hematologic adverse effects such as thrombocytopenia, anemia, and leukopenia, especially with prolonged therapy. Additionally, Linezolid is a reversible, non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitor; therefore, concomitant use with serotonergic or adrenergic agents requires careful monitoring to avoid serotonin syndrome or hypertensive crisis. Renal or hepatic impairment does not necessitate dosage adjustment, but clinical monitoring is recommended.
