About This Medicine

Product description & overview

Livomax-M Tablet contains Levocetirizine 5mg and Montelukast 10mg, combining an antihistamine and a leukotriene receptor antagonist for effective management of allergic conditions. Levocetirizine, a third-generation non-sedating antihistamine, selectively inhibits peripheral H1 receptors, thereby reducing symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, and pruritus associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, blocks cysteinyl leukotriene receptors, preventing bronchoconstriction, inflammation, and mucus production, making it beneficial in controlling asthma symptoms and improving respiratory function. The synergistic action of these agents provides comprehensive relief from allergic rhinitis, seasonal allergies, and asthma, improving patient quality of life. Livomax-M is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis (both seasonal and perennial), chronic idiopathic urticaria, and as an adjunct therapy in asthma management. It is generally well-tolerated, with a low incidence of adverse effects such as headache, fatigue, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, and it should be used under medical supervision. Livomax-M offers a convenient once-daily oral dosing regimen, enhancing patient compliance in the long-term management of allergic and respiratory conditions.
