About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Levozen M Tablet is a combination medication containing Levocetirizine 5mg and Montelukast 10mg, formulated for the effective management of allergic conditions. Levocetirizine, a third-generation non-sedative antihistamine, selectively inhibits peripheral H1 receptors, thereby reducing symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, itching, and urticaria associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, blocks the action of leukotrienes, inflammatory mediators involved in bronchoconstriction, mucus production, and airway edema, making it beneficial in the prophylaxis and treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis. The synergistic action of these agents provides comprehensive relief from allergic symptoms by targeting multiple pathways in the inflammatory cascade. Levozen M is indicated for patients with seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis, asthma, and other related hypersensitivity disorders. It is generally well tolerated, with a low incidence of adverse effects such as headache, fatigue, or gastrointestinal disturbances. The combination therapy improves patient compliance by reducing pill burden and enhancing symptom control. Levozen M should be used under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and patient-specific factors. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.
