Levobrik M 5mg/10mg Tablet is a combination medication containing Levocetirizine 5mg and Montelukast 10mg, indicated for the management of allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. Levocetirizine, a third-generation non-sedative antihistamine, selectively antagonizes peripheral H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing symptoms of allergic reactions including sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, and rhinorrhea. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor, preventing leukotriene-mediated bronchoconstriction, inflammation, and mucus production, which are key contributors to asthma and allergic rhinitis pathophysiology. The combination provides a synergistic effect, offering improved symptomatic relief in patients with concomitant allergic rhinitis and asthma or persistent allergic symptoms unresponsive to monotherapy.
