About This Medicine

Product description & overview

Latoprost Eye Drop contains Latanoprost 0.005% w/v, a prostaglandin F2α analogue used primarily in the management of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Latanoprost works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor through the uveoscleral pathway, thereby reducing IOP and helping to prevent optic nerve damage and visual field loss associated with glaucoma. This medication is typically administered once daily in the affected eye(s), preferably in the evening, to optimize therapeutic efficacy. Latoprost Eye Drop is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to latanoprost or any of the formulation’s excipients. Common adverse effects may include conjunctival hyperemia, eye irritation, increased pigmentation of the iris, eyelash changes, and blurred vision. Patients should be advised to avoid contamination of the dropper tip and to remove contact lenses prior to administration, reinserting them 15 minutes after application. Regular monitoring of intraocular pressure and ocular health is recommended during treatment. Latoprost Eye Drop should be used under the supervision of an ophthalmologist, with caution in patients with a history of intraocular inflammation or macular edema.
