About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Ocudor Eye Drop contains Dorzolamide 2% w/v, a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma. Dorzolamide acts by inhibiting the enzyme carbonic anhydrase in the ciliary processes of the eye, thereby decreasing aqueous humor secretion and lowering intraocular pressure. This topical ophthalmic solution is typically administered as one drop three times daily in the affected eye(s). Ocudor Eye Drop is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to dorzolamide, sulfonamides, or any component of the formulation, as well as in those with severe renal impairment. Common adverse effects include ocular discomfort, burning or stinging upon instillation, blurred vision, and a bitter taste. Patients should be advised to avoid contamination of the dropper tip and to discontinue use if signs of hypersensitivity or severe ocular irritation occur. Caution is warranted in patients with sulfonamide allergies and those with respiratory conditions such as asthma. Ocudor Eye Drop should be used under the supervision of an ophthalmologist, with regular monitoring of intraocular pressure to assess therapeutic efficacy and detect potential adverse effects. Proper storage at room temperature away from light is recommended to maintain product stability.
