About This Medicine

Product description & overview

Lampa-M Tablet contains Levocetirizine 5mg and Montelukast 10mg, combining an antihistamine and a leukotriene receptor antagonist to provide effective relief from allergic symptoms. Levocetirizine, a third-generation non-sedating antihistamine, selectively inhibits peripheral H1 receptors, thereby reducing symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal pruritus, and urticaria associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, blocks cysteinyl leukotriene receptors, preventing bronchoconstriction, mucus secretion, and inflammation, which are key contributors to asthma and allergic rhinitis pathophysiology. This combination is indicated for the management of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and as adjunctive therapy in asthma to improve symptom control and reduce exacerbations. Lampa-M Tablet offers the advantage of dual action on histamine and leukotriene pathways, providing comprehensive symptom relief. It is generally well tolerated, with a low incidence of adverse effects such as headache, fatigue, and gastrointestinal disturbances. The dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on patient response and clinical condition. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, and it is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to any component.
