About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Kenadion 10mg Tablet contains Phytomenadione, a synthetic form of vitamin K1, essential for the synthesis of clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X in the liver. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of vitamin K deficiency bleeding (VKDB) in newborns and for the management of hypoprothrombinemia caused by vitamin K deficiency or antagonists such as warfarin. Kenadion facilitates the activation of clotting factors, thereby promoting normal blood coagulation and reducing the risk of hemorrhage. This medication is also used in cases of malabsorption syndromes, prolonged antibiotic therapy, or liver disease where vitamin K deficiency may occur. The recommended dosage and duration of treatment depend on the clinical condition and patient response. Kenadion is administered orally and is generally well tolerated; adverse effects are rare but may include hypersensitivity reactions such as rash or anaphylaxis. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to vitamin K or its components. Monitoring of coagulation parameters is recommended during therapy, especially when used concomitantly with anticoagulants. Kenadion 10mg Tablet should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
