Juweed Cream contains Mupirocin 2% w/w, a topical antibiotic indicated for the treatment of superficial skin infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Mupirocin acts by inhibiting bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, thereby preventing protein synthesis and bacterial growth. Juweed Cream is primarily used for impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis, and other minor skin infections such as infected eczema and wounds. It is applied topically to the affected area two to three times daily, typically for a duration of 5 to 10 days, depending on clinical response. The formulation is designed for external use only and should not be applied to large areas of damaged skin or mucous membranes. Adverse reactions are generally mild and may include local irritation, burning, or itching at the application site. Sensitization or allergic contact dermatitis is rare but possible. Juweed Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mupirocin or any component of the formulation. It is important to complete the full course of treatment to prevent the development of resistant bacterial strains. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be under medical supervision. Juweed Cream should be stored at room temperature, away from direct light and moisture.
