Jubivilda 50 M Tablet SR is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Metformin 500 mg and Vildagliptin 50 mg, formulated to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily acts by decreasing hepatic glucose production, enhancing peripheral glucose uptake, and improving insulin sensitivity. Vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, increases the levels of incretin hormones, which stimulate insulin release and suppress glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures a gradual release of Metformin, improving gastrointestinal tolerability and adherence. This combination therapy addresses multiple pathophysiological defects of type 2 diabetes, providing effective control of fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.
