About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Jemonda 10 Tablet contains Dapagliflozin 10 mg, a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules, Dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion, thereby lowering plasma glucose levels independently of insulin secretion. Jemonda 10 is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing HbA1c levels, promoting weight loss, and lowering systolic blood pressure. Additionally, Dapagliflozin has shown cardiovascular and renal benefits in patients with established cardiovascular disease or chronic kidney disease. The recommended dosage is one tablet daily, taken orally with or without food. Common adverse effects include urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections, and increased urination. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, hypotension, or at risk of ketoacidosis. Jemonda 10 should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Regular monitoring of renal function and glycemic status is recommended during therapy to ensure safety and efficacy.
