About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Jbmox 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg. Amoxycillin is a broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic belonging to the penicillin class, effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that enhances the efficacy of Amoxycillin by preventing the degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. This synergistic combination is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, sinusitis, and dental infections. Jbmox 625 Tablet is particularly useful in cases where beta-lactamase producing organisms are suspected or confirmed. The dosage and duration of therapy should be determined by the severity and type of infection as well as patient-specific factors such as age, renal function, and clinical response. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Hypersensitivity reactions, although rare, may occur in penicillin-sensitive individuals. Jbmox 625 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins, and renal impairment. It is essential to complete the prescribed course to prevent resistance development.
